STMicroelectronics 750V/1200V 4th Gen SiC MOSFETs
STMicroelectronics 750V/1200V 4th Generation Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFETs offer notable advancements in power conversion technology compared to previous generations. These robust devices are engineered with 4th generation STPOWER SiC MOSFET technology to provide superior performance and robustness, meeting the rigorous demands of future electric vehicle (EV) traction inverters. The MOSFETs feature a lower on-resistance (RDS(on)) compared to previous generations, enhancing overall system efficiency and minimizing conduction losses. These modules also offer faster switching speeds, which translates to lower switching losses, essential for high-frequency applications. The average die size of these ST Gen 4 SiC MOSFETs is 12% to 15% smaller than that of Generation 3, enabling more compact power converter designs, reducing system costs, and saving valuable space. While the primary application is EV traction inverters, these devices are also suitable for other automotive and high-power industrial applications, including solar inverters, energy storage solutions, data centers, and DC/DC converters for EVs and hybrid EVs (HEVs).
