Il controller Bluetooth 4.0 CC256x Texas Instruments è una soluzione Bluetooth 4.0 dual mode BR/EDR/LE HCI basata sul core Bluetooth TI di 7° generazione. Se accoppiato a un dispositivo MCU, questo dispositivo HCI offre ottime prestazioni RF. Gli algoritmi software e hardware di gestione della potenza di TI consentono importanti risparmi di energia nelle più comuni modalità operative Bluetooth BR/EDR/LE. Grazie a una potenza di trasmissione e a una sensibilità di ricezione, questa soluzione offre una gamma ideale, più o meno doppia rispetto ad altre soluzioni solo BLE. Lo stack Bluetooth con software senza royalty disponibile presso TI è preintegrato nei modelli MCU di TI MSP430 e ARM Cortex M3 e Cortex M4. Alcuni dei profili attualmente supportati sono: serial port profile (SPP), human interface device (HID) e vari profili BLE (questi profili variano in base all'MCU supportato).
