Mouser-Sponsored Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing Team Scores Second Place Finish at IMSA SportsCar Weekend

August 7, 2023 – Mouser Electronics, Inc., the New Product Introduction (NPI) leader™ empowering innovation, congratulates the Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing team on another podium finish for the GTD PRO class at Sunday's IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at Road America.

Drivers Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat extended their GTD PRO championship lead to 169 points with a second-place finish, while Aaron Telitz and Frankie Montecalvo scored a top-five finish with a fifth-place result in the GTD class. Hawksworth and Barnicoat have earned seven podium finishes in eight races this year, including wins in Long Beach and Watkins Glen.

It was a race of strategy for the Vasser Sullivan Racing team at the four-mile, 14-turn Wisconsin road course. Hawksworth started fourth in the GTD PRO class and ran consistently in the top four during his stint, which started off with two caution periods. Barnicoat jumped into the Lexus for the final two stints and re-entered the track in P5. However, a perfectly executed strategy by the Vasser Sullivan team got Barnicoat into the third position after the final pit stop, closing in on second place. With only 15 minutes to go, Barnicoat made his way to the second position earning the runner-up finish for the No. 14 Lexus.
