La serie LPC18Sx di NXP Semiconductors include microcontroller (MCU) basati su ARM Cortex-M3 con funzioni di sicurezza per applicazioni integrate. Il modello ARM Cortex-M3 presenta un core di prossima generazione che offre miglioramenti di sistema come un consumo a bassa potenza, funzionalità di debug potenziate e un elevato livello di integrazione del blocco di supporto. L'architettura Harvard fornisce bus di dati e istruzioni locali separati nonché un terzo bus per periferiche. Inoltre la CPU ARM Cortex-M3 CPU ha un'unità di prefetch interna che supporta la diramazione speculativa. Gli MCU LPC18Sx basati su ARM Cortex-M3 includono fino a 200 kB di SRAM su chip, funzioni di sicurezza con motore AES, un'interfaccia SPI (SPIFI) quadrupla, un sottosistema PWM/timer a stato configurabile (SCTimer/PWM), due controller USB ad alta velocità, Ethernet, LCD, un controller di memoria esterno e molteplici periferiche digitali e analogiche.Caratteristiche

- 12MHz internal RC oscillator trimmed to 1.5 % accuracy over temperature and voltage
- Ultra-low power RTC crystal oscillator
- Serial interfaces
- Quad SPI Flash Interface (SPIFI) with 1-, 2-, or 4-bit data at rates of up to 52MB per second
- 10/100T Ethernet MAC with RMII and MII interfaces and DMA support for high throughput at low CPU load
- Support for IEEE 1588 timestamping/advanced time stamping (IEEE 1588-2008 v2)

- External Memory Controller (EMC) supporting external SRAM, ROM, NOR flash, and SDRAM devices
- LCD controller with DMA support and a programmable display resolution of up to 1024H x 768V
