Temp-Flex FEP Flat-Ribbon Cables are high-temperature, high flexibility, abrasion-resistant cables using chemically inert insulation material in ribbon format for ease of termination with standard IDCs (Insulation Displacement Connectors). Features include extruded (will not delaminate), tight pitch tolerances, a high-temperature range (200°C), chemical resistance, environmentally stable, high-performance dielectric insulation, and non-combustible. Temp-Flex FEP Flat Ribbon Cables are ideal for aircraft avionics and harsh industrial applications withstanding high temperatures and chemical exposures.Features
- A wide operating temperature range (-65°C to +200°C) coupled with the durable and flexible FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene) dielectric insulation material withstands soldering termination as well as sub-arctic environments
- The combination also facilitates agile movement, resistance to abrasions, and is more robust and durable than PVC and TPE
- An extruded cable encapsulates each conductor with insulation and will not delaminate
- Pitch tolerance (control) of ±0.05mm (0.002") ensures compatibility with a wide range of Insulation Displacement Terminations/Connectors (IDTs/IDCs)
- The ribbonized cable delivers IDT/IDC press-fit terminations for efficiency and cost savings
- A variety of conductor sizes (32 to 16AWG), materials (bare copper, silver-plated copper, and high-strength alloy), and pitches enable customizations based on application requirements (current-voltage, space restrictions, tensile strength, flexibility, and flex life)
- The chemical resistance cables withstand acids, alcohols, aldehydes, bases, esters, hydrocarbons (aliphatic, aromatic, and halogenated), ketones, and oxidizing agents
- Hand-tool slice-ability provides flexibility in conductor count to meet multiple application requirements
- A low-loss dielectric constant (permittivity, 2.1) ensures optimum signal transmission with minimum loss
- Commercial or MIL-Spec Approved options available
