Microchip Technology BM83 BLUETOOTH® Stereo Audio Module

Microchip BM83 BLUETOOTH® Stereo Audio Module is a BLUETOOTH 5.0 certified dual-mode audio module. The BM83 includes an onboard BLUETOOTH stack and audio profiles. The device supports 24-bit/96kHz high-resolution audio formats to enable high-fidelity wireless audio.

An integrated Digital Signal Processor (DSP) decodes AAC and SBC codecs and executes advanced audio and voice processing. These include a Wide-Band (WB) speech, Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC), and Noise Reduction (NR). This platform provides flexibility in customizing peripheral settings and DSP functionality using a Windows® operating system-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) configuration tool.

The proprietary Wireless Concert Technology (WCT) streams audio to multiple devices from the same audio source. The device starts playing music and receiving phone calls using the pre-programmed firmware. Product differentiation can be maintained by deploying new features via USB, UART, and Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware upgrades.
