Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated Fully Isolated Transceiver Solutions for RS-485
Analog Devices Inc. and HALO Electronics partner to offer fully isolated transceiver solutions for RS-485/Profibus high-speed industrial applications. ADI RS-485/Profibus half-duplex DP transceivers provide galvanic isolation (2750V or 5000V), improving communications by breaking ground loops. This reduces noise caused by significant differences in ground potential between ports.
HALO-isolated transformers provide galvanic isolation (2750V or 5000V) on the power supply. These ADI Fully Isolated Transceiver Solutions for RS-485 transformers have been designed with the optimal turns ratios and ET constant for use with the ADI transceivers. When both solutions are used, the signal and power are completely isolated between the cable and UART sides of the circuit.
