I CI di protezione della batteria agli ioni di litio impilabili bq7790x della serie da 3 a 5 Texas Instruments sono protettori del gruppo batteria a bassa potenza che implementa una serie di protezioni per tensione, corrente e temperatura. Queste protezioni sono tutte realizzate senza il controllo dei microcontrollore (MCU). Le soglie di protezione e i ritardi sono programmati in fabbrica e sono disponibili in svariate configurazioni. Soglie diverse per sovratemperatura e sottotemperatura per la scarica (OTD e UTD) e la carica (OTC e UTC) sono fornite per una maggiore flessibilità. Questi dispositivi raggiungono una protezione del gruppo tramite driver NMOSFET low-side DSG e CHG indipendenti integrati che possono essere disattivati tramite due pin di controllo.
