I microcontroller a segnale misto (MCU) MSP430F552x/MSP430F551x di Texas Instruments sono MCU a bassissimo consumo configurati con una USB integrata e un PHY che supporta USB 2.0 e quattro timer a 16 bit. Questi dispositivi includono un convertitore analogico-digitale (ADC) a 12 bit ad alte prestazioni, due USCI, un moltiplicatore hardware, DMA e un modulo RTC con funzionalità di allarme. I microcontroller MSP430F5528, MSP430F5526, MSP430F5524e MSP430F5522 includono tutte queste periferiche, ma dispongono di pin di I/O 47 . I MSP430F552x/MSP430F551x di MSP430F552x/MSP430F551x dispongono di una potente CPU RISC a 16 bit, registri a 16 bit e generatori di costanti che contribuiscono alla massima efficienza del codice. L'oscillatore controllato digitalmente (DCO) consente ai dispositivi di risvegliarsi e passare dalla modalità a basso consumo alla modalità attiva in 3,5µs (tipico).
